Fiberglass pools live at the intersection of functionality and style. With sizes available from 16’ x 40’ all of the way down to 8’-6” x 10’-6”. A pool with straight sides gets you the most “pool” space for the area while a freeform works well when you are trying to put a pool and some patio area into a certain footprint as the “flare ins” or negative space, created by the walls moving in work well for patio area.
In the not-too-distant past, the trend with most pools was to have them very wide and very deep with a minimal shallow end. Most of these “old school” pools had straight walls, no features, and were usually constructed using a vinyl liner. If you were using the deep end then you were typically jumping in, treading water, or hanging on the side. Fiberglass pools change this scenario up. These types of pools are constructed with less difference between the shallow and deep ends. Some even have flat bottoms. This, along with other features such as sun shelves, bucket seats, bench seats all contribute to the new school way of thinking with fiberglass pools, to have use the entire pool as a functional area. Whether that’s a volleyball game or hanging out in the pool during cocktail hour, the utilization of the full space of the pool is a primary focus of fiberglass.
With all of this in mind, we have many different plunge pool options available. We have a pool that can fit in most any yard. An awesome thing about fiberglass plunge pools is that they can be installed completely above ground or semi-inground as well, just as long as they are supported by crushed stone. To accomplish this, we usually create some kind of enclosure that can contain the stone on the inside and can be decorated with stone or brick work on the outside.
Plunge Pools allow a space that is bigger than a hot tub yet is a manageable body of water. It is quite possible that you don’t have children or a large family. Maybe you are looking to spend less money on pool chemicals and upkeep but still value a pool as a part of your outdoor living project. A fiberglass plunge pool could be for you.
